Met Gala 2019

Met Gala is the Oscar of the fashion world! It is the fashion fundraising event conducted by the costume institute Gala in New York. The event in recent times is attended by the big names of fashion, film, music, and art. There is a theme which is followed every year and the previous years have seen themes like Manus x Machina, Heavenly Bodies. This year Met Gala theme was Camp: notes on fashion.

The Met Gala 2019 was chaired by Anna Wintour and co-chaired by Lady Gaga, Alessandro Michele, Harry Styles, and Serena Williams. Most of the guest list at Met Gala 2019 was filled with the movie stars. It is not just the event of the west. Many Bollywood actresses also mark their presence at the biggest fashion event.

Bollywood at Met Gala 2019

Recently the people from Bollywood have also started marking their presence at the Met Gala event. The two hot divas Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra nail their Met Gala look every year. Moreover, this year at Met Gala 2019, Isha Ambani also made an appearance.

Deepika Padukone stole the show last year as she wore a dramatic red gown by Prabal Gurung. She coupled the look with long earrings and back slicked hair. Before that, in Met Gala 2017, Deepika chose to wear an Ivory slip dress gown by Tommy Hilfiger. She paired it with the diamond danglers and a silver hair accessory. Deepika looked dreamy without a doubt! For this year Met Gala, Deepika turned into a Barbie. She wore a princess gown with 3D embellishments.

Another Bollywood Diva to set the Met Gala carpet on fire was Priyanka Chopra. This year Priyanka’s look was exactly what the theme demands but seems like many didn’t find it that appealing. She chose to wear a silver thigh-high slit gown with ruffled feathers and a silver crown. What got the most attention was her curly hairdo. The hair was what got trolled more but to be true, Priyanka looked classy as she opted to stand out looking her best!
